Fantasy Animated Drama ‘Hawkmaster’ In The Works At Fox From Ex-Pixar Pair Mark Andrews & Andrew Gordon & Oded Turgeman
Brave director Mark Andrews and his former Pixar colleague Andrew Gordon have teamed up with Israeli producer Oded Turgeman to develop an animated fantasy drama, Hawkmaster, that is in the works at Fox. Andrews, who directed the 2012 Academy Award-winning feature film Brave, will write and exec produce. A key member of Pixar’s senior creative team for many years, he was also head of story for The Incredibles and Ratatouille and co-directed and co-write live-action feature John Carter for Disney.

Carlos Saldanha Signs With Range Media Partners
Oscar-nominated Brazilian filmmaker Carlos Saldanha has signed with Range Media Partners. Saldanha is one of the principle creative forces behind the Ice Age and Rio franchises during his time at Blue Sky Studios, where his films grossed over $2 billion at box offices worldwide. He is a two-time Academy Award nominee, first for the animated short Gone Nutty and more recently, the animated feature Ferdinand.
Netflix Sets Animated 'The Witch Boy' With Original Music by Haim
Netflix announced production on The Witch Boy, an animated musical feature based on the graphic novel series of the same title by Molly Knox Ostertag. It will be directed by Minkyu Lee from a screenplay by Maria Melnik (Escape Room), and feature original music from three-time Grammy nominated band Haim. The Witch Boy will be produced by Roy Lee, Miri Yoon and Ryan Harris through Vertigo Entertainment and released by Netflix.

Bruce W. Smith and Ralph Farquhar, best known as two of the executive producer behind iconic animated sitcom “The Proud Family,” have signed a multi-year overall deal with Disney. Under the wide-ranging pact, the pair will produce animated and live-action series and films for Disney’s Branded Television division… As part of their agreement, separate funding will be provided to the duo in order to find and develop emerging talent, as well as bringing unique projects and voices to Disney.

The streamer officially has greenlighted The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder, which returns the original cast and executive producers from The Proud Family, which aired on Disney Channel in the 2000s. Original series creator/executive producer Bruce W. Smith and executive producer Ralph Farquhar are back along with co-EP and story editor Calvin Brown.
Netflix Orders Adult Animated Series “The Midnight Gospel”
Netflix has ordered eight episodes of adult animated series “The Midnight Gospel,” from Emmy-winning Adventure Time creator Pendleton Ward and comedian Duncan Trussell. Titmouse (“Big Mouth”) will serve as the animation studio for the series, which is slated to premiere in 2020.
‘Frozen 2’ First-Day Advance Ticket Sales Set Animated Film Record
Further evidence that Disney’s “Frozen II” is going to be a gargantuan hit at the November box office: Both Fandango and Atom Tickets have announced that the first day presales for the Chris Buck-Jennifer Lee-directed sequel have eclipsed those for all other animated films. While tracking has “Frozen II” opening to $100M over the weekend of Nov. 22-24, some B.O. prognosticators believe its higher at $125M. For Fandango, “Frozen II” is the online and mobile-ticket seller’s fastest-selling animated pic in its 19-year history, outpacing the presales of “Toy Story 4.”
