Mark Andrews, director of Pixar’s Academy Award winning animated feature Brave and a writer on Genndy Tartakovsky’s “Primal” and “Samurai Jack,” is attached as the showrunner of animated series “Kyōryū,” about samurai dinosaurs living in a postapocalyptic Japan. In development at Wellington, New Zealand-based Floating Rock, an animation and VFX studio, “Kyōryū” is set in Japan in a future where dinosaurs have outlasted humanity.

Mark Andrews (Brave) directs this 3D animated action-comedy about two robot brothers, Shiny and Thunder, as they fight off the Kaiju that threaten the world. Reel FX developed and produced this Netflix animated series, created by Executive Producers Victor Maldonado and Alfredo Torres. While many have tried to use video game engines, like Unity or Unreal Engine, for animation in the past, Reel FX is the first to create an innovative production animation pipeline that utilizes the Unreal Game Engine to visualize and render every aspect of the show. Fantasy Animated Drama ‘Hawkmaster’ In The Works At Fox From Ex-Pixar Pair Mark Andrews & Andrew Gordon & Oded Turgeman
Brave director Mark Andrews and his former Pixar colleague Andrew Gordon have teamed up with Israeli producer Oded Turgeman to develop an animated fantasy drama, Hawkmaster, that is in the works at Fox. Andrews, who directed the 2012 Academy Award-winning feature film Brave, will write and exec produce. A key member of Pixar’s senior creative team for many years, he was also head of story for The Incredibles and Ratatouille and co-directed and co-write live-action feature John Carter for Disney.

WME Has Kilt It: Signs Oscar-Winning ‘Brave’ Helmer Mark Andrews
WME has signed Mark Andrews. Sure you know him; he was the only Academy Award winner on Sunday who took the stage in a kilt, when he accepted the Best Animated Film prize for Brave with Brenda Chapman. He wrote and replaced Chapman as director on the Disney film.
